PARRAMATTA coach Daniel Anderson wanted to bottle the courage but cut their boots off after Dragons' five-eighth Jamie Soward tormented Eels fullback Jarryd Hayne out of last night's season-opener. Anderson described Soward's boot as the difference but was left lamenting the kicking game of his own side. "They kicked very well and we kicked poorly," Anderson said when asked to sum up the game.

A Memorial Middle School teacher is on administrative leave following allegations that she instructed all of her students to kick one boy for having kicked another child last Friday. He sits next to me and when I saw his legs they were all red and bruised up … his face was really red and he was starting to cry."

It was L-P's first win over the Maple Leafs since 1919.

When I came in I approached some of the kids just playing positions and I asked them if they wanted to try out the kicking position because I wanted to develop a true kicking game, so Jake accepted the challenge   -Joe Sassano
